The Cancer Support Community (Formerly the Wellness Community of St. Louis) was a very important organization to my parents. They were founding members of the St. Louis chapter and remained very involved throughout their lives. During these challenging times, people struggling with cancer often are in need of even greater support.  During the past year, CSC has kept their "virtual doors open"  to provide services and support, "to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community."

Each May, I look forward to celebrating  my mom with her nearest and dearest at the Steps for Hope Walk.  This year, the Steps for Hope Walk, will be on May 1st!  CSC will be staggering start times for the physical walk at Creve Coeur Park, so as to spread people out and social distance appropriately.  We’ve designed the day to comply with local health guidelines regarding social distancing to make it safe and fun for everyone by offering in-person and virtual participation! 

Once again, I have organized Team Gracie, and I would love if you would walk with us in her honor.  We invite you to "WALK WITH US"  on May 1st at 11 am.  You may join CSC at Creve Coeur Lake, or walk where ever you may be!  For those of you who can join us in any capacity, please snap a photo of you walking on Team Gracie and share with us!  We will have a Team Gracie tent where we can gather to socially distance before and after the walk. 

Sign up as a participant and "walk with our team!" I have not set a fundraising goal, although any funds we raise would be wonderful.

My true motivation for participating in this event is to honor and celebrate my mom with each of you.  

This year, as in all years, I’m also walking in honor of my Dad Bob, my Aunt Gail and my cousin, Lynne.

Join us for Cancer Support Community’s 23^rd annual Steps for ^HHHope, and inspire others to celebrate hope, honor loved ones and join in community on Saturday, May 1, 2021! This year, we will gather both virtually and in-person* at Creve Coeur Park to take Steps for ^HHHope and extend support and compassion to those impacted by cancer in our community.

Walkers choose a 1 or 3.7 mile route either in-person at beautiful Creve Coeur Park or virtaully on their own wherever they choose!

*Steps For Hope event is designed to comply with local health guidelines regarding social distancing to make it safe and enjoyable for everyone. Staggered start times will be in place to meet gathering limits at the Walk starting at 9:00 A.M. at Creve Coeur Park.

Proceeds from the event stay in the St. Louis area and fund Cancer Support Community's programs, all of which are available at no charge to individuals impacted by cancer. When you take your own STEPS FOR HOPE you help share knowledge, community, and hope with individuals and families affected by cancer.
