My sister, Sheila Glazer, was an ardent fan and supporter of the Cancer Support Community. She loved the support groups, the lectures, the art classes, and in particular, the dance classes. Sheila led a team each year called "Thanks for the Dance." When Sheila was about to leave us in October of 2018, I promised her that I would take over her team and keep it going. In 2019, the CSC Walk was rained out. In 2020, I was inadvertently left off of the email to alert members of the Walk; I thought it had been canceled because of Covid-19. This year's Walk will be offered both virtually and in person. I will be fully vaccinated by the May 1 Walk date, so I am planning to mask up and walk in person. Or perhaps I'll dance! Whether you join our team virtually, in person to walk, or just with a contribution to support this wonderful organization, the CSC and those who benefit from it will greatly appreciate it, as will I, and as would Sheila (or should I say "as will Sheila"? I think she'll know.) The date is May 1. The place is Creve Coeur Park. Our team will start walking at 10:00 a.m. We have a choice of a 1 mile walk or a 3.7 mile route. Which will it be? Hope to see you there!
Join us for Cancer Support Community’s 23rd annual Steps for Hope, and inspire others to celebrate hope, honor loved ones and join in community on Saturday, May 1, 2021! This year, we will gather both virtually and in-person* at Creve Coeur Park to take Steps for Hope and extend support and compassion to those impacted by cancer in our community.
Walkers choose a 1 or 3.7 mile route either in-person at beautiful Creve Coeur Park or virtaully on their own wherever they choose!
*Steps For Hope event is designed to comply with local health guidelines regarding social distancing to make it safe and enjoyable for everyone. Staggered start times will be in place to meet gathering limits at the Walk starting at 9:00 A.M. at Creve Coeur Park.
Proceeds from the event stay in the St. Louis area and fund Cancer Support Community's programs, all of which are available at no charge to individuals impacted by cancer. When you take your own STEPS FOR HOPE you help share knowledge, community, and hope with individuals and families affected by cancer.
