Dear Friends and Family:
I am excited to let you all know that I have joined the board of the Cancer Support Community (Formerly the Wellness Community of St. Louis) and we are gearing up for our Steps for Hope Walk on Sat, May 1 at 11am.
Providing support for people and families with cancer is vital to our community and has become something Matt and I feel very strongly about. Having lost both of my parents (Don and Sue Gallop) and Matt's mom (Barbara Coen) to cancer, we couldn't think of a more important effort to invest our time and resources.
My mom's favorite time of the year was late April, when she often had her "Tiptoe Through Her Tulips Party" and while this year we may not be witnessing the tulips on Glenview Road, I thought it woud be wonderful to tiptoe or walk for Steps for Hope. Additionally, Barbara loved flowers and even spent time working at a flower shop. As for my dad, well, he would love anyting that brought friends and family together.
CSC will be staggering start times for the physical walk at Creve Coeur Park, so as to spread people out and social distance appropriately. We’ve designed the day to comply with local health guidelines regarding social distancing to make it safe and fun for everyone by offering in-person participation!
I am putting together a team to honor Don and Sue Gallop and Barbara Coen, Team: Tiptoe through the Tulips and I would love it if you would walk with me in their honor. We invite you to "WALK WITH US" on May 1st at 11 am. You may join CSC at Creve Coeur Lake, or walk where ever you may be! For those of you who can join us in any capacity, please let us know what time you will be walking. If you would like to donate but can't be in St. Louis to walk that day - NO PROBLEM! Please take a picture of you walking in your hometown or wherever you are that weekend, we would love to see everyone's photos.
Sign up as a participant and "walk with our team!" Any funds we raise would be appreciated and well utilized by the Cancer Support Community.
I have never participated in something like this and I am excited for the opportunity to share this event with all of you. Looking forward to Tiptoeing Through The Tulips (or at least sort of...) with You!

ABOUT STEPS FOR HOPE 2021
Join us for Cancer Support Community’s 23rd annual Steps for Hope, and inspire others to celebrate hope, honor loved ones and join in community on Saturday, May 1, 2021! This year, we will gather both virtually and in-person* at Creve Coeur Park to take Steps for Hope and extend support and compassion to those impacted by cancer in our community.
Walkers choose a 1 or 3.7 mile route either in-person at beautiful Creve Coeur Park or virtaully on their own wherever they choose!
*Steps For Hope event is designed to comply with local health guidelines regarding social distancing to make it safe and enjoyable for everyone. Staggered start times will be in place to meet gathering limits at the Walk starting at 9:00 A.M. at Creve Coeur Park.
Proceeds from the event stay in the St. Louis area and fund Cancer Support Community's programs, all of which are available at no charge to individuals impacted by cancer. When you take your own STEPS FOR HOPE you help share knowledge, community, and hope with individuals and families affected by cancer.
